The British prime minister used it often, making it famous, but he did not invent it, that rare genius as of yet un- known. When the V sign is made palm inward by a Briton it means “fuck you.” Said Winston Churchill in 1941: “The V sign is the symbol of the unconquerable will of the occupied territo- ries, and portent of the fate awaiting the Nazi tyranny.”
