power lunch. A lunch attended by at least two powerful peo- ple, often movers and shakers of society, people who can get things done. The power lunch is said to have been born in the Grill Room of the Four Seasons restaurant in New York City, or at least to have been so named there. The Four Seasons, de- signed by Philip Johnson, opened in 1959 and is considered an “interior landmark” of New York City. |
