A term heard in Massachusetts and Rhode Island for what is commonly called a milkshake in other places; it was possibly so named because the drugstore that first concocted it in Fall River, Massachusetts, kept the ice cream in a cabinet at- tached to the soda fountain. But perhaps the name has some- thing to do with the earlier cabinet pudding, which is also a sweet dessert. |
