词汇 | c |
词源 | C; Secret Service. Ian Fleming gave the name M to the head of the British Secret Service (MI6) in his James Bond novels. But the only real-life head of the British espionage agency to go by an initial was the colorful John Cumming of World War I, who wrote in green ink and insisted on being called “C.” The term Secret Service itself is recorded as far back as 1737, in the reign of George II. |
