| 词源 | greenmail. Patterned on blackmail, which it strictly is, green- mail was coined on Wall Street in 1983, green suggested by the color of U.S. currency. When one company buys enough shares in another to threaten a takeover, the “greenmail” company is forced to buy the shares back at a higher price to avoid that possibility. See blackmail. |
