| 词源 | blindside. For centuries blind side has meant the obscured part of one’s field of vision. In the early 1970s, the word became a verb in professional football meaning to tackle or block an opponent from the blind side. Soon the verb was taken up gen- erally to describe an attack on anyone who is unprepared or taken by surprise. |
