词源 | beetle-brained. We don’t call someone beetle-brained be- cause he acts as though he has a brain about as big as a beetle. The English term, first recorded in 1604, derives from the Old English betl, “a hammer,” a betl or beetle-brained person having a head as hard as a hammer head. |
