词源 | generation. Generation derives ultimately from Latin genus, birth. There is no definite period of years for a generation; it is the average interval of time between the birth of parents and the birth of their children. A generation is a period of more than 50 years in the Old Testament. Today a generation is gen- erally considered to be 30 to 33 years in length, about three generations to a century. |
