词源	minnow. The name of this little fish is often used to describe anything small, but it is (at three to four inches) many times the size of gobies (see annual fish). Minnows are of the order Cypriniformes. They can be differentiated from the similar killie by the placement and shape of their fins—the minnow’s caudal fin is always forked. The so-called topminnow is there- fore not a minnow at all, but one of the many killie species.
