Only “Happy Birthday,” written in 1893, has been sung more frequently than the popular “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow,” according to the Guinness Book of World Records. “Jolly Good Fellow,” however, is much older. It was originally the French song “Malbrouk,” which dates back to at least 1781.
