词源 | fiscal. In ancient Rome merchants used a small basket called a fiscus, so named because it was made of rush or reeds (fiscus), to carry money from one place to another. From these little baskets, so common in Rome, the public treasury was named the fisc, and over the centuries anything to do with money mat- ters came to be called fiscal. |
