feijoa. The delicious guava (Feijoa sellowiana) is native to South America and grown in Florida and California for its highly esteemed white-fleshed fruit. A member of the myrtle family, it is a small genus noted only for the pineapple guava, which is often called “feijoa.” Closely related to the true guava, its fruit is used widely for jam and jelly.
