There is not a nonviolent hustler’s trick un- known to the Williamsons, from resurfacing a homeowner’s driveway with crankcase oil—and departing across the county line with the payment before the next rain washes the “black- top” away—to an attractive Williamson woman selling her “dead mother’s valuable Irish linen” door to door in order to “buy milk” for a baby conveniently bawling in her arms.
