| 词源 | Runyonese. The language spoken by New York characters in- vented by author Damon Runyon (1884–1946); a colorful if ex- aggerated New Yorkese. The author of Guys and Dolls, a jour- nalist and short story writer noted for his tales of the New York underworld and New York City itself, requested that his ashes be scattered over Broadway. On his death his ashes were dropped on the Great White Way from a transport plane flown by his friend, the famous American aviator Eddie Rickenbacker. |
