词源	Very light: Very pistol. American naval officer Edward Wil- son Very (1847–1910) was an admiral by the time he retired in 1885. The rank came mainly as a reward for his invention of the Very light, the important illuminating flare signal that was fired from the Very pistol, which he also invented.
