词源 | kiss-me-quick. In New England and the southeastern part of the U.S. a kiss-me or a kiss-me-quick was a ridge or depression in a roadway, one that caused a carriage to jolt and possibly throw a girl into her young man’s arms. The usage is recorded as late as 1945 in the Southeast and may still be used there to a limited extent. See wham, bam (thank ye, m’am). |
