publishing patron saints. The saints that watch over the publishing trade include: publishers, St. John the Apostle; edi- tors, St. John Bosco; authors, St. Francis de Sales, St. John the Evangelist; poets, St. David, St. Cecilia, St. Columba, and St. John of the Cross. Publishers admit that even television has its patron saint—St. Clare of Assisi (1194–1253). All saints take their title ultimately from Latin sanctus, “holy.” |
