词源 | coulee. A deep ravine or gulch with sloping sides, formed by running water, that is often dry in summer; it can also be a small valley or a small stream. The word derives from the French couler (to flow). Grand Coulee Dam is at the end of the deep, dry canyon called Grand Coulee that is cut by the Co- lumbia River in the state of Washington. |
