amusement (n.)

1640年代，“注意力的转移”，尤其是在军事行动中，源自法语 amusement，是 amuser 的名词形式（见 amuse）。

“消遣，游戏，玩耍，任何愉快地分散注意力的事物”（从职责、工作等中）的意思始于1670年代，最初是贬义的； “愉快的消遣”这一含义始于1690年代。1862年出现了 Amusement hall，1897年出现了 amusement park。
