词汇 | jocko |
词源 | jocko. Apparently a new name for kill. In a recent trial, a New York gangland lawyer complained that he didn’t know the meaning of jocko, which the prosecutor said meant to kill (New York Times, June 25, 2005). The judge said it really didn’t mat- ter, considering the murder and racketeering charges the law- yer’s client had already been convicted of: “One could infer that ‘jocko’ does not mean let’s go out and picnic in Central Park.” Jocko also means a nincompoop, saphead, a dolt, a natural born fool, etc. See jock; jockstrap. |
