词源 | lubber. Any clumsy, stupid person. Although it is widely used throughout the U.S., the expression is an old one dating back to fifteenth-century England. It is most often heard in landlubber, a sailor’s derogatory term for someone unfamil- iar with ships or the sea that is just recorded in 1690. |
