| 词源 | hawk. Hawk for an eager advocate of war didn’t come into the language during the Vietnam War, as is often believed. Tho- mas Jefferson coined the term war hawks in 1798 to describe Federalists crying for war with France, and the modern term hawk was first given to those of John F. Kennedy’s advisers who during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962 wanted the president to get tougher with Cuba and the Soviet Union. |
