The Oldsmobile, famed in song and fable, was named after its designer, Ransom Eli Olds, who headed the Reo Motor Car (Reo after his initials), which introduced the Oldsmobile in 1901. After over 100 years all that will be left of the Olds will be memories and popular song lyrics: “Won’t you come with me, Lucille / In my merry Oldsmobile . . .” |
