词源	NYSE; AMEX. NYSE is the abbreviation for the New York Stock Exchange, which was originally named the New York Stock and Exchange Board (1817), taking its present name in 1863. The American Stock Exchange (AMEX), which took its present name in 1963, was formed as the New York Curb Ex- change in 1842, because it was composed of curbstone brokers who were not members of any exchange and conducted busi- ness outside on the curb.
