| 词源 | bless. As unlikely as it seems, our word bless derives from the Old English blod, blood. Blod yielded the Old English verb bledsian, which meant “to make sacred or holy with blood,” as when sacrificial blood of animals was used in religious ceremo- nies. Bledsian became blessen in Middle English and by Shake- speare’s time had become bless. |
