Spanglish. Many Hispanic people speak this combination of Spanish and English. The hybrid language features words such as fafu for “fast food”, tensen for a “10-cent store,” such as the late Woolworth’s; chopping for “shopping”, and chileando for “chilling out.” Its combination of Spanish and English might re- sult in a sentence like “Vamos a lonchar, or what?” (“Are we go- ing to have lunch or not?”) |
