词源	Micawberish attitude. An attitude that is very optimistic, of- ten to a fault. Named after Mr. Wilkins Micawber, a character in Charles Dickens’s David Copperfield (1849–50), the novel Dick- ens liked best. Micawber, poor but always hopeful, the eternal optimist, does become an esteemed magistrate in Australia. “An optimist,” wrote J. H. Cabell, “proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds; and the pessimist fears this is true.”
