| 词源 | Appian Way. This “Queen of Roads” was so named for Ro- man emperor Appius Claudius Caecus, who began building it in 312 b.c. It was 350 miles in total length and is still preserved today thanks to its excellent construction and materials such as cemented stone blocks. The emperor also built the first Roman aquaduct. |
