Dr. Feelgood. A term dating back to at least the early 1960s for an unprincipled physician who injects any paying patients with drugs such as amphetamines (speed) to give them a high. Dr. Feelgoods also prescribe pills containing amphetamines to people addicted to them—again, if they can pay the price. Feel- good can also be used singly today, as in “They dropped a few feelgood bombs, but really accomplished nothing.” |
