词源	ladanum. A fragrant plant whose gum is used in making perfume and medicines. The gum is culled by pulling leather or cloth through the shrubs in the heat of day, the gum or resin adhering to the strips. Another method is to collect the gum from the beards of browsing goats. Ladanum is confused with myrrh in the Bible.
