词源	kayak. Traditionally an Eskimo canoe with a skin cover over its light framework, but today any small boat resembling it, no matter what materials are used. The word, first recorded in the mid-18th century, comes from the Inuit qayaq. Also, a fishing boat whose name is thought to be a corruption of the eastern kaique by early British North Pole voyagers.
