词源 | Turk. A cruel, brutal, and domineering man is sometimes called a Turk or an unspeakable Turk, such qualities ascribed to the Turks from early times. The word Turk itself is Arabic or Persian for a native of Turkey. Turk, uncapitalized, can also mean one of a breed of Turkish horses similar to the Arabian horse, the distinctive plum curculio insect, or a scimitar. See young turk. |
