词源 | counterpoint. Originally, counterpoint was the Latin musical term punctus contra punctus, “note against note.” This means “melody against melody or simultaneous independent melodic lines,” and was shortened to counterpunctus, which became the English counterpoint with its general as well as musical mean- ing. The word is first recorded in the early 16th century. |
