But boxing historian Bert Randolph Sugar, in his The Greatest Fighters of All Time, ranks welterweight champion Jimmy McLarnin 22nd and claims he was called the best fighter pound for pound years before Robinson. Jimmy “Baby Face” McLarnin beat 13 world champions over the course of a long career. He died in 2004, age 96. |
