词汇 peanuts cracker jack
词源
Peanuts, Cracker Jack! Vendors have been crying “Peanuts, Cracker Jack!” in ballparks (and at circuses and carnivals) at least since the early 1900s. Cracker Jack, now a trademark of the Borden Co., was first sold, under another name, in 1893. The cry is often heard as “Peanuts, popcorn, Cracker Jax” [Jacks]!” The words have been inextricably linked with baseball since 1908, when the song “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” was published, its lyrics including the line “Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks; I don’t care if I never get back.” Over 250 million boxes of Cracker Jacks are sold every year.
