词汇 oy vay
词源
Oy vay! A common Yiddish expression. Albert Einstein is said to have cried “Oy vay!” when told that the first atomic bomb, which he did not know was being built, had obliterated Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. Literally, the words mean “oh, pain,” vay deriving from German Weh, meaning “woe.” Leo Rosten in The Joys of Yiddish (1968) goes on to list fully 29 uses of the workhorse exclamation. See oy!
