They aren’t the shortest-lived fish, however, this dubious honor going to a species of killifish of Africa and South America that lives about eight months. The Philippine dwarf pygmy goby (Pandaka pygmaea) is the world’s smallest fish—normally about as long as the word fish printed here and so light that it would take 35,000 of them to make an ounce. |
