词汇 busker
词源
busker. A busker is a street musician or other entertainer who performs on the street, in malls, at subway stations, or wherever one can entertain and solicit money for one’s perfor- mances. Busk, in the sense of “to entertain,” is first recorded in 1851, when busking was defined as “going into public houses [pubs] and playing and singing and dancing.” The term is be- coming quite common in large U.S. cities. No one is sure of busk’s origin, but it may derive from the French brusquer, “to seek.”
