词源	schwa. The schwa was a Hebrew letter, or Masoretic point, expressing an obscure vowel, such as the vowel in the second syllable of the English linen or button. It became the name of such a vowel in modern languages, as well as the phonetic sym- bol (ә) for such a vowel.
