词汇 stick it in your ear
词源
stick it in your ear. This rude insult may have its origins in baseball, where stick it in his ear is often the cry of bench jock- eys to a pitcher on their team who is facing a batter crowding the plate. Literally, it means “to hit the batter in the ear with the ball,” but it usually means “to throw the ball very close to the hitter, to dust him off.” No one has determined exactly when this phrase came into the language, but it was around in the 1950s. It may simply be a variation of much ruder phrases like stick it up your ass and shove it up your ass.
