词源	blast from the past. Early in the 1960s disc jockey Murray the K (Kaufman) made this phrase popular as his way of intro- ducing a great old song. The expression is now used to describe someone or something that appears from one’s past out of the blue, as in “Wow! Seeing him was a blast from the past!”
