| 词源 | black widow spider. The little jet-black American spider La- trodectus mactans is called a widow because it eats its mate. Spiders, however, are often cannibalistic. Generally, spider ven- om causes no harm to humans, but the venom of the black widow spider causes pain and can be fatal.
