词源 | million-footed Manhattan. A phrase used by Walt Whitman in his poem “A Broadway Pageant” (1883). In it he also called the borough “Superb-faced Manhattan.” It might more accu- rately be called twenty-million footed Manhattan today, count- ing visitors. |
