词源	auld; Auld Lang Syne. Auld, as in the song “Auld Lang Syne,” simply means “old.” Auld Lang Syne probably dates back at least before the 18th century, but the famous version rewritten by Scottish poet Robert Burns in 1796 is the one that is known and sung today. Auld Lang Syne means “old long since,” or times past.
