| 词源 | affluent. After the publication of economist John Kenneth Galbraith’s book The Affluent Society in 1958, affluent came to be commonly used as a synonym for rich or wealthy. Affluent, however, had been used for “flowing or abounding in wealth” since the 18th century and for “flowing in abundance” since at least 1413, when the word is first recorded. |
