词源	roadhog. Surprisingly, this term for a driver who doesn’t keep to a lane, who takes more than a share of the road, was first applied to bicycle riders, not motorists. The term is an Americanism first recorded in 1891, according to the OED, but recorded two years later according to A Dictionary of Americanisms. At the time there were roughly 10 million bicy- cles on U.S. roads but no more than two dozen cars. See bicycle; car.
