| 词源 | cyberspace. American author William Gibson coined this word in a 1982 short story, popularizing it in his novel Neuro- mancer (1984). Based on cybernetics, first recorded in 1948, cy- berspace is the space of virtual reality. Published in 20 languages, his novel earned Gibson the title “Father of Cyberspace.” But the derivation goes back to the ancient Greeks, who coined it from their word cyber, meaning navigator. |
