Quoddy boats, double-ended keelboats with a gaff mainsail and sometimes a jib set on a detachable bowsprit, take their name from the Pasamaquoddy Bay between New Brunswick, Canada and Maine, where they first were built. They were long used for lobstering and fishing along the Maine coast. |
