词源 | all’s well that ends well. This famous phrase wasn’t coined by Shakespeare as the title of his comedy All’s Well That Ends Well (1603). According to several sources, including the Concise Ox- ford Dictionary of Proverbs, the words were proverbial long be- fore the Bard, as far back as the 14th century, and perhaps longer. |
