gamer (n.)

15世纪中期，“一名运动员”（13世纪中期作为姓氏， Johannes le Gamer），是 game（v.）的代理名词。1981年证实了“一个致力于玩电子或电脑游戏的人”的含义（1975年参考 Dungeons & Dragons 的玩家）。Gamester 自1580年代以来就有记录，但有时也意味着“妓女”（比较旧俚语 The Game “性交”（20世纪30年代），可能来自 the first game ever played “交媾”）。从1550年代开始，“赌徒”也是如此。 Gamesman 来自1947年。
